SkyeBrowse goes Dubai!

SkyeBrowse, a Software startup that turns Video into 3D Models in less than 5 minutes, recently participated in Dubai Future Accelerator’s Cohort 6.

Launched in 2016 by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Dubai Future Accelerators facilitates partnerships between innovative entrepreneurs, private sector organizations and government entities to co-create solutions.

SkyeBrowse was selected to work with Dubai Police to create innovative solutions that reduce the time and effort spent on law enforcement activities making Dubai a “smarter” and “safer” city. The focus was around the ability to expeditiously turn video into 3D models, something that is very well suited for studying and documenting accident sites amongst other things.

During the 9 weeks program, SkyeBrowse collaborated with three departments from Dubai Police to study their internal activities and procedures. CEO Bobby Ouyang presented to various groups and individuals within Dubai Police and the Dubai Future Foundation ecosystem that lead to a more focused collaboration with one of the teams at Dubai Police. The SkyeBrowse team drove around with Dubai Police to perform live demos on accident sites and also created a 2 minute video outlining the concept they were working on.

Apart from the chance to work with different Dubai Police teams in a high-involvement on-hands environment, the DFA program also provided the chance to network with the UAE and regional startup and business community. Mentoring sessions, guest speakers and visits to various important public and private entities were quite regular and provided a good insight into the business culture and corporate landscape of the region.

The SkyeBrowse team explored potential new features alongside the Dubai Police team, such as the “autonomous take-off”. Though the 9 weeks concluded very quickly, SkyeBrowse has remained in contact with the relevant teams to further explore the potential for collaboration. Stay tuned for more!
