Introducing Universal Upload
Universal Upload is a reality with SkyeBrowse, allowing you to generate 3D models from any video file! You can use videos from your drone, phone, GoPro, and more to generate a 3D model. Here’s how:
Record a video of an object you are looking to model. Just like our pre-planned orbits, if you walk around or fly above the scene with your camera, you can capture it all with one circular path. Once you return to the starting point, stop the video recording.
Next, log into your SkyeBrowse account and upload the video footage. When you click the yellow upload button at the top left of your screen, you will be prompted to choose your upload option: “App Upload” for footage from our SkyeBrowse app, or “Universal Upload” to import video from other sources. You can also choose a name for your 3D model.
No longer are you limited to only the drones that we support. You can now make 3D models from all drone video, as well as phone video!
In addition to this amazing update, the models are still accurate to the centimeter without telemetry data. Here’s how you can obtain accurate measurements with a raw video file.
This is where the new scale-measurement tool comes in. Prior to taking your video, place a known measurement, which will be the source for your measurements. The scale-measurement tool can identify that marker as a known length, and scale the rest of the model accordingly, giving you centimeter-accurate measurements!
We welcome you to try this update out for yourself. With this new feature upgrade, we want to make 3D modeling reliable and easy. Keep in mind that the quality of the video going in is going to affect the quality of the model produced. Let us know what you think!
